  • They could fix damage if they made it so you only took damage as level + highest value card (ignoring all other cards) where there are 3 values that are added to damage calculation. Level 1-2 is 1 dmg, 2-4 is 2, 5-6 is 3 so the most damage you could ever take would be 9. And if they really wanted to slow the game down they could make level dmg work the same way so the most dmg you could take would be 6.

  • What if you take damage basen on YOUR tavern tier, plus enemy minions. That way its riskier for people to hyper level and nuke other players and even adds an interesting risk/reward aspect to leveling

  • Most of the bullshit damage comes from summoned minions. Summoned minions like from Khadgar or pirate boat should count as tokens in terms of damage.

  • I think that the game could benefit from random mutators, along with 2 banned tribes. Something like, damage cap at 5 but everyone starts at shop level 6, or all tavern rolls are free, but you only have a limited amount of rolls per turn or less time in the shop, stuff like that. They would probably have to ban certain heros for mutators, but I think a mechanic like that could really make it interesting.

  • Against a 14 health baron that Zap would indeed have been nice. As for damage cap, maybe 5 plus either your tavern tier, your opponent's tavern tier, or both? Slows down midgame highroll damage while still letting some through. Possibly combine with 50 health and 60ish for pudge.

  • The easiest damage change they could make would just be to take the tier of the highest surviving minion only, not add up all the minions that survived. That would make the maximum possible damage 12.

  • Thoughts on a damage cap- the first round of combat the cap is 3 damage, that cap goes up by 2 every round. So it wouldn’t be until turn 15 that someone could hit for 30 damage.

  • How about a max damage limit to slow the game down? For example, max 5 damage until turn 6, and then the max damage equals the turn number, so turn 10 the max damage is 10. The initial max damage number can change for balancing purposes as well. The problem i see with most damage reductions, is that certain heroes will just intentionally lose games, knowing they wont take max damage, to rush up tavern tiers. Maybe you tavern tier also effects it some way? hmm... maybe initial max damage, then turn number + your tavern tier is the max damage you can take? literally just spitballing here for no purpose.

  • A good solution imo for mot taking insane amounts of damage is you take 1 damage per taverni tier from 1 to 6 and an additional 1 to 7 depending on how many minions survived so basically all minions should deal 1 damage each.

  • My answer to damage dealt is this, just make every tavern tier minion deal one less than their tavern level. Slows the game down from start to finish and encourages people to play for later game builds otherwise damage is negligible. Needs some minion tuning I would say though as say useful mechs fall off after tavern tier 4, arguably for murlocs too. Though I suppose it is worth that lessened damage potential for the better builds?

  • I think the best way to fix damage is to only allow cards that are your tavern tier or below to proc damage. Whether the tavern tier itself should add to it or not I am not sure. But I think this is a decent fix, it allows for players to catch up against opponents who get super lucky with triples.

  • Should just be damage based on your level - but it’s also limited by the highest health/damage (whichever is lower) of the surviving minion. That basically means if you barely lose, I.E your opponent ends the round with a single 1 health minion you only take 1 damage. But if you get utterly crushed you take up to 6. Slows the game down a lot and means you actually get punished less for really close games

  • I think the damage should be "The turn number +1" So, if you lose on turn 1, you take 2 damage. Lose on turn 5, you take 6 damage. This would slow down the game quite a bit, but would make late game still have lethal results.

    • There's a simpler solution. Dmg = Minion Tier / 2, rounded down. +1 for tripples. So minions can deal 1-4 damage. A full high level board still gonna hurt, but it would be enough to give the game 2-3 more turns and stops highrolls from insta-killing their opponents. Edit: Oh jeah, and all summoned minions during combat either deal 1 or 0. No moar shenanigan with Boat or Snake, suddenly hitting for 18 after a draw.

Let the stupid-ass, overpowered Druids, Shamans and Priests play amongst themselves in Wild. I want to play against Mages and Warriors exclusively.

    • This sounds like a good idea but it honestly would just increase the level of risky all of nothing strats because you can't die for at least one more turn. People would just level straight to five and get 6 drop triples every time and it would not be fun at all. It's the same principle as when you fight the ghost: if I know I won't die, I can level again etc. Sometimes you die early, sometimes you knock out other people early. That's just how it goes. But, if you make the right decisions, and play to your outs, you will win more than you lose. I just got 11k and this the best patch battlegrounds has ever had

  • Honestly Blizzard could just raise the Health totals so that the game slows down while enabling people to still get damage achievements. Realistically they would start off slow with +5 health to everyone but I'm a radical and i would start at 60 HP for everyone, 75 HP for Patchwerk.

    • I think we just need Tavern dmg+ 1 dmg per initial minion and 0 per token/summoned minion. It still allows you to deal more dmg with bigger boards but removes "I 1 shot every1" or "that ship/coiler/imp mama generated extra 15 dmg fucking bullshit" problems. Maybe experiment with minion dmg to scale up to 2 or 3 for higher tier if universal 1 dmg per minion is 2 slow.

  • what if players damage only count the amount of minion left on the board instead of the minion's tavern tier? Meaning if you have 6 minion left on the board you get 6 added to your tavern tier as your damage. Yes, that mean that death rattle tokens will be very strong, but at least you dont suddenly die to because the dude manage to keep his 2 6* minions on the board with 1 health left each. And also you only take 13 damage at the very most at any given turn, instead of potentially taking 20+ damage and have your run be over at turn 6 against a high roller.
